Carlos’ journey began in boyhood. On vacations and school holidays he could be found working with his father at his various stores, learning and working various sectors all the way through college where he received a degree in business administration. Post college, he stumbled into a job at a pizza place, and soon after, fell in love with the hospitality field. In 1999 he began working at the Brae Burn Country Club in Newton during the day and moonlighting at the Wellesley College Club at night. It was there he met Mr. Curtin, the BOG of the Boston College Club, and he invited Carlos to go and work with him in Boston. After the Boston College Club, he received an invitation to design, open, and manage a Brazilian BBQ restaurant, where he built a successful enterprise over the next three years. In 2014, Carlos decided it was time reconnect him and his family to their roots (also felling his son needed to speak Portuguese better!) and he returned to Brazil where he became the national director of operations in a natural products and food supplements factory. In 2016, he returned to Boston to work as the Food and Beverage Director at the Oakley Country Club in Watertown. A few years later he went back to the Boston College Club and worked there as the Food and Beverage Director until 2021. It was after this he started working at Wellesley Country Club where he worked diligently developing their wine program and renovating the dining experience by introducing them to current culinary trends and bringing in new, improved product; subsequently building the foundation of a strong front and back of the house. In his free time, he enjoys being with his wife and son, accompanying them at soccer games and tournaments. He enjoys studying wine, which is his passion, and reading books on hospitality.
